Well, it worked last time, so I might as well try again 😉
My current contract runs out in 4 weeks time. Although there’s a likelihood that an extension will be on the table, nothing’s certain these days, so it makes sense to see if there are any other interesting opportunities out there. I’ve been at my current site for quite a while now so a new challenge might be a good idea in any case (although there’s a possibility of even more work on an interesting Data Warehouse project I’ve been working for on and off since September).
So if anyone knows any one who is looking for a good Oracle person in general (yes, I’m a DBA but I can handle all sorts of Oracle work) then I’d appreciate it if you could drop me a mail at dougburns@yahoo.com

Data warehouse??? – welcome to the dark side
I’ve worked on the dark side a few times before, as you know Pete, I just don’t spend my whole life in the shadows 😉
By the way, for anyone considering a similar approach, it’s worked pretty well. I’ve had four approaches this week! Of course, most have been through people I know and read the blog, but it’s still very encouraging.
Thanks, folks.
go down south – i think here are more opportunities and you have excellent flights (e.g. from Southampton to Edinburgh.
P.S. Consider Euro zone as well as the rates are pretty nice there.
Good Luck
Paul … funnily enough, your suggestions fitted in with my thoughts! I’ve worked down south a lot in the past. I’ve worked a little in Europe, too, although the rates there can often be lower. I’m not sure that’s still the same case now, though, with the change in the exchange rate 😉
